Marriage Certificates
Marriage records in Van Buren County are available starting from 1836. These records are for licenses applied for and filed with the County Clerk.

You can request a certified copy of a Marriage Record online by using our Online Vital Record Request Form.
Request by Mail
To request a certified copy by mail, please print the order form or send a letter including:
- Names on the marriage license at application time
- Approximate date of marriage
- Appropriate fee (check or money order)
An online index from 1974 is available at Van Buren County Clerk’s Office .
Fees
The fees for a certified copy are:
- $15 for the first certified copy
- $5 for each additional certified copy
Please make checks or money orders payable to the County Clerk. Do not send cash through the mail.
If your request is missing any required information, it will be returned for completion.
In Person
The Clerk’s office is open from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, except on federal holidays. The office accepts cash, checks, credit or debit cards, and money orders.
