SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics)

The SWAT team is a specialized group of law enforcement officers trained to handle critical situations. They step in when public safety is at risk and traditional police methods are not enough.

Our SWAT team includes deputies, police officers, and support staff from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, the South Haven Police Department, and the Lawton Police Department. They are called upon for high-risk incidents, such as those involving barricaded subjects or hostages, where specialized skills and teamwork are essential.
