Care Trak is a tracking system that helps locate high-risk individuals with Alzheimer’s and children with special needs, such as Autism and Down Syndrome.
Since 1986, many Sheriff’s, Police, Fire Departments, and Search and Rescue teams have used Care Trak to find at-risk individuals quickly. In over 2,000 rescues, trained responders located people in less than 30 minutes on average. Without Care Trak, searches can take over 8 hours.
This reliable system is now available in Van Buren County through the Sheriff’s Office. Care Trak is a trusted name worldwide in people locating systems.
A high-risk person wears a small transmitter like a wristwatch. It is secured with a band on the wrist or ankle. Each transmitter has a unique frequency, recorded in a confidential profile. Caregivers should test the transmitter twice daily with a provided tester. If the person wanders, call the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office immediately. Trained officers will use the client profile and tracking equipment to start the search, which can be on foot, by vehicle, or from the air.
The transmitter costs $260, with a $20 monthly fee for a new battery and wristband. A Sheriff’s Office representative will visit monthly to change the battery and reinstall the unit. The first year costs $500, and subsequent years are $240.
To purchase the system, call our office at 269-657-2006 between 8 am and 4 pm, Monday through Friday. Mention you are interested in Care Trak, and we will take your name and number. Someone will contact you to set up an appointment for a demonstration.
