Animal Control
We partner with local rescues to serve our community.
Central Dispatch
Central Dispatch is available 24/7, handling over 125,000 calls and dispatching 65,000 services annually. We support 14 fire departments, 13 EMS, and 11 law enforcement agencies in Van Buren County.
Corrections Division
The Van Buren County Jail in Paw Paw, Michigan, can hold 213 inmates. It follows the Michigan Department of Corrections rules.
Dive Rescue & Recovery Team
Our team includes eight rescue divers and four boat handlers, equipped with the latest gear for safety and efficiency.
Investigative Division
This division includes the Detective Division, Narcotics Division, Computer Crime Unit, and more.
K-9
Our Canine Unit has four K-9 Deputies, each paired with a trained dog.
Marine Division
The Marine Patrol Division, with 16 officers, enforces watercraft laws in Van Buren County.
Mounted Division
Established in 1964, this division supports road patrols and provides additional manpower as needed.
Office of Domestic Preparedness
This office manages Emergency Management and Homeland Security in Van Buren County.
Reserve Division
Our volunteers provide valuable support to the Sheriff’s Office and the community.
Snowmobile Patrol
We patrol snowmobile trails to educate and enforce snowmobile laws.
SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics)
Our SWAT team handles critical incidents that require specialized skills and equipment.
Uniform Response Division
This division includes 28 deputies and 4 sergeants who conduct regular road patrols.
Victim Services Unit
Our trained volunteers assist victims and their families during crises, working alongside police, fire, and medical teams.
