Notice of Intention to Claim Interest
If your property has been foreclosed, you have until July 1 to file a notice to claim any remaining proceeds. Please send your notarized notice to the Van Buren County Treasurer by certified mail or deliver it in person.
Certified Notices
By January 31, the Van Buren County Treasurer will send certified notices to all claimants. This notice will include details about other claimants and any liens on the property at the time of foreclosure.
Filing a Motion
From February 1 to May 15, you may file a motion in circuit court to claim your share of the proceeds. The court will hold a hearing and distribute the proceeds among the claimants.
Payment of Proceeds
Within 21 days of the court’s order, the Van Buren County Treasurer will pay the amounts to the rightful claimants.
