Welcome to North Point Conservation Area! Owned by Van Buren County, this beautiful spot covers about 17 acres along Lake Michigan. You’ll find the entrance and parking on Ruggles Road, just off Blue Star Highway, north of Van Buren State Park.

About the Conservation Area

Known as the “old Boy Scout Camp,” this area has a rich history with the Boy Scouts of Southwest Michigan. Many Eagle Scout projects have taken place here, including tree planting, trail maintenance, and erosion control.

Explore 17 acres featuring 330 feet of stunning Lake Michigan beach, forested dunes, and wetlands.

Trails

Enjoy trails that lead from Ruggles Road to the top of the dune for breathtaking views of Lake Michigan. Many visitors also reach the beach by boat, and on sunny days, you’ll see several boats anchored offshore.
