We partner with local rescues to support our community. Our goal is to raise public awareness and encourage community cooperation. Animal Control is not the last resort for animals. We actively work with rescues to find forever homes.
Annual Reports
Kennel Services
Our kennel staff is available during open hours. Officers cover 632 square miles of Van Buren County. We handle all domestic animal issues, from pet licensing to livestock and animal cruelty cases.
We check all reported dog bites for rabies, vaccinations, and licenses. Animals involved in bites are observed for ten days.
The kennel has 18 dog runs and 8 small animal cages, along with two offices and a garage. We aim to house strays and unwanted pets as long as possible.
Pet Disaster Preparedness
Van Buren County Animal Control and the Office of Domestic Preparedness encourage you to have a family emergency plan, including one for your pets.
