  • Uniform Response and Our School Resource Deputy handled a Child Abuse/Domestic Violence situation in Gobles. There was substantial evidence that abuse occurred on more than one child, and the mother was abused as well. The suspect was lodged for the incident and is facing multiple charges. I cannot stress enough about if you suspect things like this going on, please contact law enforcement so it can be investigated.
  • Our Office just Purchased Three Lights for our Drones. The lights will assist with inside building searches and other searches in which lighting is needed. This is another tool we can use to help keep law enforcement and first responders out of harm’s way.
  • Uniform Response handled a Larceny complaint in Bloomingdale Township. Several items were stolen from the property, and the victim is dealing with several squatters living there. Some of the items missing include a dump trailer, Toro zero turn mower, EZ Go green golf cart, several minibikes, and misc other items.   • Sergeant Weers assisted MSP on a Crash in which the Driver Fled on Foot prior to Law Enforcement’s Arrival. Sgt Weers put up our drone and was able to locate the suspect who was hiding in the dark. The infrared lens picked up the suspect who was laying down and covered himself with leaves, dirt, and debris. The sgt was able to guide in the troopers to take him into custody. The driver now faces several charges for the incident. Great teamwork with everyone involved once again.
  • Uniform Response handled a Larceny in Gobles. The victim was at a store and dropped her phone and wallet by accident. The suspect saw the items, picked them up, and left the store with them. The Deputy that responded reviewed security cameras and was familiar with the suspect. The victim cancelled the credit cards prior to them being used. The suspect was interviewed at his residence and admitted to the incident. A female at the residence had a warrant for her arrest, so she was taken into custody for the warrant. The suspect now faces charges for the incident.
  • Uniform Response handled 721 calls for service in March, with 414 traffic stops. For the year, uniform response is at 2,139 calls for service with 1,008 traffic stops. Dispatch handled 8,156 phone calls in March, which puts them at 23,141 for the year. Those calls include landline, 911, talk to text, and administration non-emergency line calls.
  • Uniform Response handled a Larceny complaint in Keeler Township. Suspects climbed onto an irrigation system and cut off the copper wiring on some of it. There have been others happening in the area as well with the same thing happening. This appears to be taking place in the late hours of the night. Anyone with any information on this is asked to call our office.
  • Our Narcotics Unit and SWAT Team executed a Search Warrant in Hartford Township. This was an ongoing investigation from the Narcotic Detectives that led to the search warrant. Two individuals were inside the residence as well as several dogs upon executing the search warrant. Several controlled substances were located along with digital scales, packaging materials, and firearms. Detectives did locate a hidden compartment inside a bedroom wall. Detectives utilized a reciprocating saw to access the hidden compartment and recovered approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine inside it. The male suspect was lodged and now faces multiple felonies and misdemeanors for the incident.
