  • Just a reminder with Tax Season upon us, be Vigilant about Scams. This time of the year, we seem to see more mail thefts and cybercrimes occurring. As you know, the IRS would not ask for anything involving a gift card, bitcoin, etc. If you have any questions about a possible scam, call law enforcement or verify the information through the proper websites.
  • A Citizen reached out about Individuals trying to Scam Money. These scammers were advising the citizen she won Publisher’s Clearing House Sweepstakes, along with a Mercedez Benz, $5,000 per week for life, and $50,000 in cash. The citizen reached out to me in which I had our Detectives contact her to attempt to work the scam so the individuals could be charged.  Detectives called the numbers, and once the suspects knew who they were talking to and why, they hung up. Another one tried to say they were legit until the questions kept coming, then they hung up. The suspects once again told the individual they would release the winnings once she bought a $150 gift card and gave them the information. Once again, it appears our suspects don’t live in the USA.
  • Our Narcotics Unit Arrested Two Felony Absconders and now both face additional charges for Delivery of Methamphetamine.
