Title VI Plan

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 ensures no discrimination based on race, color, or national origin in programs receiving federal funds. It states that “no person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance” (42 U.S.C. Section 2000d).

Van Buren Public Transit is dedicated to making sure everyone can use its services without discrimination. This commitment aligns with Title VI as outlined in the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Circular 4702.1.B.

This plan guides Van Buren Public Transit in managing Title VI-related activities.
