The Tax Capture Process:
For certain Brownfield Project Plans, a portion of the property taxes from the site is captured by the Brownfield Authority. These funds are used to cover eligible project costs. The captured taxes come only from the increased taxable value due to project improvements.
This process helps transform environmentally challenged, blighted, or obsolete properties into valuable community assets.
