What is Family Reunification Court?

Family reunification court is a specialized collaborative and non-adversarial court designed to safely and swiftly reunify children with their parents.

Who is eligible for Family Reunification Court?

  • Residents of Van Buren County or nearby counties who work full-time in Van Buren County.
  • U.S. Citizens or qualified aliens.
  • Individuals with a clinical SUD diagnosis, and must have an open or ongoing neglect and abuse case.

What is the structure of Family Reunification Court?

The Family Reunification Court is a minimum 9-month, 5-phase program. It starts with more activities and gradually decreases. Random drug testing is part of the process.

Why participate in Family Reunification Court?

This court offers an alternative way to bring families back together. While participation is voluntary, it provides a strong opportunity to reunite with loved ones. The program is intensive, focusing on effective drug treatment and parenting skills.

How do I get started?

Potential participants must be referred by a CPS case worker or their attorney.
