NATURE OF INCIDENT: Unit Fugitive arrest and possession of various drugs
COMPLAINT:
DATES: 05/05/2026
LOCATION: 800 Blk of Phillips St. South Haven MI Van Buren County
SUSPECTS ARRESTED: 36yr old male from the South Haven area
NARRATIVE:
Detectives with the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit received information about a wanted subject in South Haven City. Detectives sat up and were able to visually identify the suspect. It was confirmed that the subject had multiple warrants out of various counties, including Van Buren.
Contact was made with the subject who was detained on the warrants. A probable cause search was conducted on the vehicle he was occupying, and numerous amounts of paraphernalia were located in a backpack on the front passenger seat. The items included suspected methamphetamine, prescription medication, a digital scale, and several syringes containing an unknown liquid.
The suspected methamphetamine was tested by Detectives and it was in fact positive. The unknown liquid in the syringes is being sent to the MSP laboratory for further analysis.
The suspect is currently lodged at the Van Buren County Jail on the warrants as well as several new charges. This case remains open pending laboratory analysis. He is currently facing multiple felony charges, including:
• Warrants out of Detroit Traffic
• Warrant out of Berrien County
• Warrant out of Allegan County
• Warrant out of Van Buren County
• Possession of Methamphetamine
• Possession of Analogues
• Possible additional charges pending laboratory analysis
