From the Desk of Sheriff Abbott – 10 /28/2025



  • Uniform Response handled a Larceny Complaint in Antwerp Township. A white Chevrolet extended cab pickup truck with a cap approximate year of 2003-2007 stole approximately 30 coils for air conditioning units from a business. The suspect/suspects made two trips to steal them and had removed their plate prior to doing so. Anyone with information on this is asked to call our office.
  • Alison Dean attended a Dispatch Center Supervisor School. Numerous things are taught and gone over at the school to aid her in her supervisor position.
  • Uniform Response handled Larcenies from Motor Vehicles in Bloomingdale Township. Several vehicles were gone through with numerous items taken. Anyone with any information is asked to call our office.
  • Uniform Response handled a Large Fight in the Village of Gobles. Once the investigation is complete, it’ll be sent to the Prosecutors Office for review.
  • Uniform Response handled an Illegal Entry in Decatur Township. The victim’s ex-girlfriend from over 20 years ago illegally entered his residence and then left the scene. Deputies located the suspect, interviewed her, then lodged her for the incident.
  • Uniform Response handled an Attempted Larceny from a Motor Vehicle in Antwerp Township. The victim’s car alarm went off; he looked out and observed two subjects running. The suspects were never located nor was anything taken.
  • Uniform Response handled a Traffic Crash in Hartford Township on I94hwy. The driver lost control and hit the cable barrier for no apparent reason. After the investigation was complete, the driver was lodged for operating under the influence of drugs.
  • Uniform Response handled a Traffic Crash in Almena Township. The investigation found that a motorcycle went through a stop sign into a traffic lane with oncoming traffic. The motorcycle was struck causing serious injuries to the 18-year-old driver not wearing a helmet.
  • Uniform Response had a Traffic Stop in Hartford Township. While investigating the stop, the passenger was found to be in possession of meth. They were lodged for the incident.
  • Uniform Response handled a Felonious Assault in Lawrence Township. It was found that an argument took place while the two involved were working together. The suspect attempted to stab the victim with scissors causing an injury. It was found through the investigation that the suspect is possibly here illegally. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
