Van Buren County is excited to announce that Madison Bishop has officially joined the Digital Information Department as our new Digital Communications Coordinator. Madison stepped into the role last week, and we are thrilled to welcome her talents, experience, and fresh perspective to our team.
In this position, Madison works under the direction of the Digital Information Director and plays a key role in shaping how residents interact with county government online. Her work supports Van Buren County Government and our regional partner, St. Joseph County, helping modernize public-facing communications and make local government more accessible, transparent, and user-friendly.
Strengthening How We Communicate Digitally
As Digital Communications Coordinator, Madison leads the development, maintenance, and strategic use of our county websites and digital platforms. This includes ensuring our sites are modern, accessible, and ready to support emerging technologies like AI-powered tools and automation. She also works closely with county departments to develop clear, engaging content strategies that improve how information is shared with the public.
From managing website content and social media messaging to creating newsletters, blogs, infographics, and videos, Madisonโs role spans both the technical and storytelling sides of digital communication. She also collaborates with regional partners and developers to integrate new digital services that streamline processes and enhance the resident experience.
Experience That Supports Innovation
Madison brings a strong background in digital strategy, marketing, and operations to Van Buren County. Most recently, she served as an Operational Excellence Coordinator with Pfizer, where she focused on collaborative problem-solving, innovation, and process improvement. Her earlier experience in marketing, visual merchandising, and customer-facing roles adds a well-rounded understanding of both strategy and user experience.
She holds a Master of Business Administration from Davenport University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Ferris State University. Madison is also HubSpot certified in Social Media and Inbound Marketing and was recognized on the Deanโs List throughout her academic career.
Looking Ahead
Madisonโs work will directly support our ongoing efforts to modernize county communications, improve online services, and strengthen public engagement across jurisdictions. She will also assist with training staff and elected officials on best practices for content workflows and digital communication, helping ensure consistent, clear messaging countywide.
