LOCATION: Lake Cora Hills Golf Club, 56640 County Road 671, Paw Paw Township

NARRATIVE:

Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott reports that deputies from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office responded to Lake Cora Hills Golf Club regarding a report of malicious destruction of property.

Upon arrival, deputies learned that an unknown vehicle drove onto the golf course and caused significant damage to the #10 green. Surveillance video provided by the golf club shows a vehicle—possibly a white pickup truck—turning north onto County Road 671 from Red Arrow Highway before entering the golf course property. The vehicle then drove onto the course and damaged the #10 green at approximately 3:00 a.m. (DST).

The full extent of the damage is still being evaluated by the property owner and groundskeeping staff. The green is currently unusable while repairs are assessed and completed. Preliminary estimates place the repair cost between $15,000 and $40,000, depending on the level of restoration required.

This incident remains under investigation.
