Nature of Incident: Larceny

Suspect Information: 57 year old male from Benton Harbor- 62 year old male from Coloma
Narrative: Sheriff Daniel E Abbott reports that a Deputy was dispatched to a business in the 67000 block of Red Arrow Highway in Hartford township for a report of a theft that had just occurred. The owner of the property was notified by his security cameras that people were on the property. He reported seeing two subjects on camera as they entered the property and stole multiple items including a welder, metal poles, and various wiring. The victim was able to provide the Deputy with a vehicle and suspect description from the security cameras. The suspect vehicle was located a short time later driving on Red Arrow Highway in the area of the theft. The Deputy was able to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle and observed the stolen property that had been described by the victim. During the investigation the Deputy also located other stolen property that had been taken from a power company work site. Interviews were conducted on both suspects and they both admitted to taking the property. Both subjects were arrested and lodged at the Van Buren County Jail on the charges of Larceny from a building, Larceny, receiving and concealing stolen property, and trespassing
