NATURE OF INCIDENT:
Flee and Elude
Multiple warrant arrest
Possession of methamphetamine
Malicious destruction of property
Driving while license suspended
Improper plate
No insurance

SUSPECT INFORMATION:
33 year old male from Hartford area

VEHICLE INFORMATION:
Black 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer with an improper registration.

VENUE:
The pursuit was initiated in Decatur Village near East Sherwood and South East St.

PURSUIT:
The pursuit was initiated in Decatur Village on East Sherwood near South East St.  The vehicle failed to stop when emergency lights and siren were activated, after observing traffic violations.  The vehicle fled on Sherwood St. turned North bound onto Seneca proceeding to Delaware St. and continuing westbound.  The vehicle continued westbound, ignoring traffic lights and the speed limit, until reaching the village limits south of town on M-51 Hwy.  Once the vehicle exited the village speeds reached nearly 80mph.  The vehicle continued on M-51 Hwy until turning southbound onto Cr 215.  The vehicle turned eastbound onto 92nd ave.  and eventually ran off the road into a corn field in the 49000k blk of 92nd ave.  

It was at this point the Deputy terminated his pursuit and a perimeter was set up.

SUSPECT APPREHENSION:
Deputies and assisting agencies set up a perimeter.  Cass County Sheriff's Office was able to get a drone up into the air, and the suspect surrendered himself.  Citizens in the area were very helpful in this matter.  They provided a quad to a Sergeant from the Sheriff's Office, and visual observations of the last known sighting of the suspect.  They were able to assist in setting up a strong perimeter with their information and familiarity of the lands.  The suspect was taken into custody with no issues.

The suspect vehicle was located disabled and abandoned in the woods.  A search of the vehicle revealed drugs and drug paraphernalia.  The suspect was found to have multiple warrants out for his arrest from Van Buren County.  

The suspect was lodged at the Van Buren County Jail on his warrants as well as multiple new charges.  This case is still on going.
