Uniform Response handled a Larceny Complaint in Almena Township. The victim of the dealership observed on his security cameras an individual steal a license plate off a vehicle. Deputies located the suspect walking down the road and located the stolen plate in his backpack. The suspect also had a warrant for his arrest. He was lodged at our facility with the pending charges.
Detective Chris Orr completed a 40 hour Specialized Cyber Investigation Techniques Training at the National Computer Forensics Institute in Hoover, Alabama. The program covered cybercrime trends, investigative strategies, and tools and tactics used by cybercriminals. Detective Orr also had hands-on experience identifying digital evidence, recognizing key hardware and artifacts, and applying best practices for handling evidence. Detective Orr learned a lot more in this class than what’s listed and he’ll be able to apply it to our office to continue to lead cyber investigations and strengthen our offices capacity to combat digital crime.
Uniform Response handled a Runaway Incident in Hartford Township. The juvenile ran away after dark in the late evening hours. An intense search was done exhausting a lot of resources in attempting to locate him to no avail. The juvenile was located the following morning in another township. He was returned to his family.
Dispatcher Brianna Dobberstein completed Communications Training Officer(CTO) school this past week. Brianna has been at our office for over 4 years in Dispatch and has received multiple commendations for her excellent work. She will join 6 other CTO’s in our Dispatch/911 Center.
Uniform Response handled a Domestic Assault in Lawrence Township. The suspect showed up at a relative’s house after threatening them over the phone to commit great bodily harm once he got there on scene. The suspect was lodged for the incident facing several charges now.
Uniform Response handled a Domestic Assault in Keeler Township. The investigation found that the roommates had an argument with each other. When the one roommate was trying to leave, the aggressor hit the windshield of the car with a hammer causing damage. He was lodged for the incident.
Uniform Response handled Domestic Situation in Pine Grove Township. The suspect in this case set a vehicle on fire and was threatening family members with great bodily harm. Upon arrival, the fire was out on the vehicle. The suspect in question was located and lodged on a parole violation. The report is being sent to the Prosecutors Office for review.
Uniform Response had a Traffic Stop in Mattawan which resulted in Both Occupants going to Jail. The vehicle was stopped for different violations, and upon contact with the driver, it was found they had been drinking. After the investigation was completed, the driver was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol and the passenger had a bench warrant out of Kalamazoo County for domestic violence. Both were lodged.
