Friend of the Court Warrant Recall Event

The Van Buren County Friend of the Court is helping parents get on the path of paying and staying current on child support. The Friend of the Court will be holding the following Warrant Recall Events for FOC Bench Warrants and DNR License Suspensions:

  • Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 9:00 am – 1:00 pmPaw Paw Library
  • Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 9:00 am – 1:00 pmDecatur Webster Memorial Library
  • Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 9:00 – 1:00 pm AND 1:00 pm – 5:00 pmDecatur Webster Memorial Library
  • Friday, December 12, 2025, from 9:00 am – 1:00 pmHartford Library

Active child support bench warrants will be recalled and DNR license suspensions will be reinstated if payers go to FOC Warrant Recall Day prepared to make a payment.

Resources will be available on FOC Warrant Recall Day to help with public benefits, community programs, and employment services. Self-help forms will be available, and staff may be able to help you modify your child support.

Van Buren County Deputies Honored for Life Saving Actions

Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott reports that on April 9, 2026, at approximately 9:15 PM, Van Buren County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 25000 block of M-43 in Almena Township for a reported assault.
Upon arrival and investigation, deputies learned that a 31-year-old Paw Paw man had gone to the residence, where he was sprayed with bear repellent and struck with a blunt object.
