This morning around 9:00 a.m., Van Buren County was treated to one of those rare and quiet little marvels that remind you nature occasionally reads our meeting agendas and decides to help with morale.
A brilliant double rainbow arced across the skies over Paw Paw, landing, with poetic precision, right on top of the historic Van Buren County Courthouse. Yes, the same courthouse currently surrounded by the not-so-subtle signs of active refurbishment. Even under construction, the old building still knows how to take center stage.
Kris Deaner captured a perfect ground-level shot of the rainbow touching down directly behind the courthouse, construction cranes and all, a visual reminder that history and progress can, on occasion, share a very good backdrop.

Meanwhile, in a feat of serendipitous timing and altitude, Kodi Bates had his drone in the air and was able to capture a stunning aerial perspective of the double rainbow stretching over downtown Paw Paw, courthouse included. The shots make it look as though the whole town briefly stepped into a postcard.

While we canβt promise rainbows for every project milestone, we can at least appreciate when the universe decides to give us a bit of visual encouragement, even if it has to work around the construction just like the rest of us.
Stay tuned for more photos as we continue the courthouse restoration, and keep an eye on the skies, just in case.
