From the Desk of Sheriff Abbott – 11/10/2025

- The Suspect Vehicle from the Larceny of Approximately 30 Air Conditioning Coils from a business in Antwerp Township from last week’s news updates was located. Interviews were done, and arrest warrants will be coming on the suspects. The stolen property was scrapped prior to locating the vehicle and suspects.
- Uniform Response handled a Domestic Assault in Waverly Township. After the investigation was completed, the male half was lodged for the incident.
- Detectives sought charges on a Grand Junction man stemming from an investigation earlier this year. While they were at his residence recovering a stolen trailer, they saw he had tampered with the power line and service meter, hence stealing electricity. It was found that the total loss to the power company exceeded $5,700 from the electricity and damages. He was lodged and arraigned on the felony charges.
- The Driver of the Vehicle that crashed into the Amish Buggy in Bloomingdale Township was arraigned this past week on her charges. The case will continue through the judicial process moving forward.
- On behalf of our Office, Thank You to all our Veterans for your Service. We can live free in America because of our citizens serving in the military. Thank you, it’s appreciated more than you know.
- Our Office worked in conjunction with several other Law Enforcement Offices on a Kidnaping Call. Several of the other offices were from other states. The suspect was eventually found in another state and lodged for the incident. The two victims were found safe.
- With the cold weather setting in, just a friendly reminder to make sure your smoke detectors are up to speed.
- With Firearm Deer Season opening Saturday and deer in full rut, be extra vigilant for deer on the roadway.
- For the month of October, Deputies had 273 traffic stops, bringing the total for the year to 4,006. They handled 868 calls for service, bringing the total for the year to 8,553.
- Uniform Response handled a Larceny of a License Plate Tab in Hartford Township.
